2009-2010

June is not too early to plan for the upcoming Hadassah 2009-2010 new year with an enthusiastic board. If your schedule permits, please come to one of the following planning meetings this month. Please rsvp to the host.

June 11 (Thursday) at 1:30 pm at Nurit Jacobs' home. This meeting will devoted to planning programming of educational and interesting events for the members for the 2009-2010 year. Nurit can be contacted at nurit95070@aol.com.

June 16 (Tuesday) at 4:30 pm at Barb Green's home. This meeting will be devoted to planning fundraising events for the 2009-2010 year. Barb can be contacted at greenbarb45@gmail.com.

Support a Wonderful New Resource:

The Community Mikvah, sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley, and located on the Levy Family Campus (14855 Oka Road, Los Gatos), will host a special dedication on Sunday, June 7, starting at 2 pm.

Young Judaea Alumnae: Attention

If you or anyone you know is a Young Judaea alum (club, summer camp, summer in Israel, Year Course), please send their contact information to Jane Jacobson — even if their experience was not in northern California. A committee is working on an end-of-summer reunion and doesn't want to miss anyone.

PJ Library - Jewish Bedtime Stories & Songs for Families

Have you heard about the PJ Library™ Program of Silicon Valley? It's a wonderful new - FREE - program for Jewish children from the ages of 6 months to 5.5 years being offered to everyone in our community.

Funded by the Jim Joseph Foundation of San Francisco and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation of Massachusetts, and administered by the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley, the PJ Library™ Program will mail a Jewish book or CD - free, once a month for an entire year - to each child whose parents (or grandparents) register for the program. All you have to do is go to the PJ Library website and sign up!

Our chapter is proud to be one of the "constituent partners" of the PJ Library™ Program of Silicon Valley. This means that we believe in the program, and that we want everyone that Hadassah serves to have the opportunity to participate in PJ Library. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the PJ Library coordinator, Rabbi Leslie Alexander, at pjlibrary@jvalley.org.

About our Chapter

Sharone Hadassah, established 30 years ago, is based in California's Silicon Valley, otherwise known as Santa Clara County's South Bay. It currently serves over 500 members from the communities of Campbell, Cupertino, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Santa Clara, San Jose, Saratoga, and Sunnyvale, with a few hardy souls from as far north as San Francisco and as far south as Gilroy.

Sharone Hadassah is a member of the Central Pacific Coast Region of Hadassah. (Click here to go to the Region's website, which has been designed by our own Ginny Baird.)

Sharone Hadassah offers a rich blend of educational programming, lively fundraising activities, and rewarding social interactions among members. (Click here for details.)

Chapter News: "Going Green"

Sharone is making available in the near future an updated membership roster as a ".pdf" file (which can be opened with Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can load it on your desktop and refer to it as you need or print a copy if you need to see the hard print - saving Hadassah lots of money and paper!

If your address, phone number or email address has changed, please let us know so that we can update that information. Also, we'd like to include spouses' names. Don't worry. This information is shared with no other group. If you don't want your email address or other contact information in the membership roster, please let us know that also. If you don't respond, we'll assume we have the up-to-date contact information on you, and you are giving us permission to include it in a membership roster.
