Activites to enrich, inspire, enjoy
We also have a full calendar of educational and social events throughout the year. Click here to see what's doing...
Healing Hands
This leadership event each year brings outstanding guest speakers to Sharone, from leading Hadassah Hospital physicians and researchers to highly-regarded volunteers and professionals from National Hadassah. Proceeds from this event support Hadassah Medical Organization.
Ima Luncheon
This charming annual get-together supports the work of Youth Aliyah and other programs which serve children. A delightful venue and an entertaining program draw many Sharone members each year.
Educational Programs
Sharone presents panel discussions and expert speakers on various topics relating to women's health and other issues. Sharone occasionally collaborates with other organizations. For example, a recent series of "Conversations in Jewish Learning" was co-sponsored by Sharone Hadassah and Congregation Beth David.
WOW! (Women of Wonder: Younger Women's Group)
Girls just want to have fun with WOW! Hadassah! Our group, catering mainly to women in their 20's, 30's and 40's, has been busy!
For more information about WOW! events, or if you would like to become part of our group, please feel free to contact Michelle Schwartz at WOW@sharone-hadassah.org.
International Dinner
One of Sharone's most popular and consistently well-attended events, this evening relies on creative cooks offering exotic cuisines to Sharone members and friends before a united gathering for dessert. With meals generously donated by the hosts, 100% of the proceeds go to Hadassah projects.
Book Group
This group meets in members' homes and reads mutually chosen books on Jewish themes, each guided by a member who acts as the discussion facilitator. All serious and semi-serious readers are welcome. Book Discussions take place at 1:30 p.m.
For more information, email Penina Stern at bookgroup@sharone-hadassah.org and let Penina know if you want to be on the Book Discussion email announcement list.
San Jose Jewish Film Festival
Sharone Hadassah was a proud sponsor of last year’s event. Go to http://www.sjjff.org for complete information.
Tables for 12 Luncheons
The 2007/08 Hadassah year promises to be very exciting for our Table for Twelve Luncheons. We have luncheons planned for every month. Are you interested in being a hostess? If you have expressed interest in the past or would like more information about being a hostess, please contact Marlene Burak at table4-12@sharone-hadassah.org.
The hostess prepares a lunch and presents a program. The program can be on any topic the hostess chooses. If she does not have a program, we can make suggestions. The guest sends her check to the hostess to reserve her place at the table. The cost is $18, payable to Sharone Hadassah. Please make your reservations early. The tables fill up fast.
All proceeds of these events goes to a Hadassah project chosen by the hostess. How about you being the next hostess?
Needlers (Stitchery Group)
This group works on an annual Mitzvah project, such as making baby blankets and other items for donation. Instruction is available to all who want to learn to knit or crochet. For more information, email needlers@sharone-hadassah.org
